Who is counselling for

A space that’s built around you

Every person is different. What you bring to counselling, what you need from it, and the pace that works for you, all of that is unique to you. My approach is designed to follow your lead, not the other way around.

What is Person-Centred Counselling?

Person-centred counselling is based on a simple but powerful idea: that people have within themselves everything they need to grow and change, given the right conditions. The therapist’s job isn’t to advise, diagnose or tell you what to do; it’s to create a space where you can explore what’s going on without fear of being judged.

Who comes to see me

Adults

Most of my adult clients find their own way to counselling, through word of mouth, a search online, or simply reaching a point where they know they need to talk to someone. Sessions are available online, meaning you can access support from anywhere in the UK, or internationally.

Young People

I work with young people both privately and through schools. Young people respond particularly well to person-centred counselling because it doesn’t come with an agenda; they’re allowed to bring whatever is on their mind and be taken seriously.

Bilingual Clients

I offer sessions in English and Shona. If you feel more comfortable speaking in Shona or switching between languages, that’s completely fine. Language should never be a barrier to getting support.

Your first session, what actually happens

Before we begin regular sessions, I offer a free 30-minute consultation. This is a chance to have a relaxed conversation about what you’re going through, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for how I work. There’s no commitment and no pressure.

If we decide to go ahead, sessions are 50 minutes long. Most people find a weekly or fortnightly rhythm works best, though we’ll agree together what feels right for you.

All current sessions are held online. If you’re based in Bournemouth, in-person sessions are also available.
