Counselling that centres you

Feeling overwhelmed, stuck or like you just can’t cope any more is more common than you think, and it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Counselling gives you the space to slow down, make sense of what you’re going through, and take the first step forward. I work with adults and young people across the UK and beyond, online from wherever you are. If you’re in or around Bournemouth, in-person sessions are also available.

What I help with

You don’t need a diagnosis to start.

If something doesn’t feel right, that’s enough. Here are the most common things people bring to our sessions.

See all areas I work with
  • Anxiety & Stress

A racing mind and constant worry that makes everyday life feel exhausting.

  • Grief & Bereavement

Loss that doesn’t follow a timetable, in a space entirely free of judgment.

  • Relationships

Conflict and patterns you want to understand and change.

  • Depression & Low Mood

When the simplest things feel like an effort, we work at your pace.

  • Trauma & Abuse

Childhood or adult trauma, you don’t need it neatly processed to begin.

  • Just Need to Talk

You don’t need a label or a clear reason, just a space to talk, reflect, and be heard.

Meet Nary

Your Counsellor, Here to Listen

For over 15 years, I worked in healthcare, caring for people day in and day out. Long before I trained as a counsellor, I was watching people’s lives shift when they felt genuinely heard. That’s what drives everything I do.

I use a person-centred approach – you lead, I follow. There is no fixed agenda, no judgment. Just a space to think out loud, find your own way forward, and feel empowered to make decisions that are genuinely yours.

FAQs

Feel free to as

There’s no such thing as a silly question when it comes to starting counselling. Here are the ones I hear most often.

Still have a question that’s not covered here?
► Send me a message, and I’ll get back to you

You absolutely can. Crying is a completely natural response to finally having a space to let things out and you won’t be judged for it. Tissues are always to hand. What you feel in the session is welcome, whatever form it takes.

Yes, everything you share in our sessions is confidential. The only exceptions are situations where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or where I am legally required to disclose information. I’ll explain this fully in our initial consultation so there are no surprises.

Online sessions are £30 for 50 minutes. In-person sessions are £40. Your first consultation (30 minutes, online) is completely free — there’s no commitment involved.

There’s no fixed answer. Some people find real value in just a handful of sessions; others prefer to work over a longer period. We’ll review regularly and you’re always in control of how long we continue.

Sessions are led by you. We might start with what’s on your mind that week, explore something from your past, or simply sit with something that’s been difficult to express. There’s no set agenda, we go where feels most useful.

Not at all. You don’t need a referral, a diagnosis, or a particular reason. If you feel like you need to talk to someone, that’s enough.

Very much so. Most people feel that way before their first session. That’s part of why I offer a free consultation it’s a chance to have a conversation with no pressure and decide for yourself whether it feels right.

Yes. I work with clients in the UK and internationally. As long as you have a private space and a reliable internet connection, we can work together.

Yes, I’m fluent in English and Shona. Sessions can be conducted fully in Shona, or you can move between the two languages as feels natural to you.

Yes. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, and I’m a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I have full professional liability insurance, a DBS check, and a Police Vetting Certificate.
