Who we are
This website is for Nyarai Schwadron, also known as Counselling with Nary, a qualified counsillor providing person-centred counselling services based in Bournemouth, UK.
Nyarai Schwadron is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in line with UK GDPR requirements. As the data controller, she is responsible for how your personal data is collected, stored and used.

What information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you get in touch via the contact form, email, phone or Facebook Messenger, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address and/or phone number
- Any personal information you choose to share in your message
You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with. You control what you tell us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit this website, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools. This includes things like which pages you visited, how long you spent on the site, and what device or browser you used. This information does not identify you personally.

Information you provide when getting in touch is used only to:

Confidentiality and counselling sessions
Everything shared within counselling sessions is confidential. The only exception is if there is an immediate risk to life โ in which case there is a professional and legal duty to act. This will always be explained clearly before sessions begin, so there are no surprises.
Session notes, if kept, are stored securely and are not shared with any third party without your explicit consent, except where required by law.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, personal data must be processed on a lawful basis. The bases used here are:
- Legitimate interests โ responding to enquiries and managing bookings
- Consent โ for optional communications and cookie-based analytics

How long we keep your data
Enquiry and contact information is kept only for as long as is necessary to manage your query or booking. If you become a client, session-related records are kept in line with NCPS guidelines on record retention, after which they are securely deleted. Analytics data collected by Google is retained for 26 months by default.
Third parties
This website does not sell your data. The only third-party service that receives data from this site is Google Analytics, which processes anonymised usage data as described above. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
If sessions are conducted via a video platform such as Zoom or Google Meet, that platform’s own privacy policy will also apply. Details will be provided at the point of booking.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access โ request a copy of the personal data held about you
- Rectification โ ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Erasure โ ask for your data to be deleted, where there is no lawful reason to retain it
- Restriction โ ask for processing of your data to be limited in certain circumstances
- Portability โ request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object โ object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent โ where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time
